Principal’s Report
Our School Vision - One team, one mission, striving to provide a safe and effective learning environment where every child is supported to reach their potential.
2024 NAPLAN
NAPLAN data provides us with valuable information about how we are going as a school. This year’s NAPLAN results were wonderful. MSPS performed better than like schools and better than expected based on system data. Our school is ‘punching above its weight’ due to the explicit teaching style we have adopted over the last 6 years and the whole school texts that you buy for your child at the beginning of each year. Your child’s academic progress and achievement is our priority, and it is very gratifying to see that we are proving to be a successful school. You should feel confident and pleased that your child is been provided with every opportunity to succeed, well and truly reflecting our school vision and priorities.
The graph above demonstrates how we have done better than expected in Year 3 Reading. A far greater number of students are at the ‘exceeding’ proficiency level. And while we always expect there to be students who need additional support there aren’t the number of students expected at that proficiency level.
The Numeracy graph is a similar story. Students who are performing at the ‘strong’ level of proficiency are far greater in number than expected.
Fathers Day Breakfast
Plans are well underway for the week 7 Wednesday Breakfast for students and their fathers. We have sort donations from local businesses and staff are donating to the raffle that will run across the breakfast. We are encouraging everyone to wear their beanies to fit in with the menu of a sausage sizzle and baked bean/ spaghetti toasties.
Preparing for Bush Fires
Every year the school prepares a plan in case of fire. That plan includes practising evacuation as a whole school which we do at least once a term. Please note the following points in the case of a genuine fire evacuation scenario.
Bushfire Season 2024 - 2025
Please keep in mind the following points if we need to evacuate to a safer place.
- Parents will be contacted via the school app or texted via SMS. Please ensure you have access to the school app tool and your details are correct at the front office.
- Parents are not to ring the school at the time of evacuation. Phone lines are kept free for emergency services and staff will be busy moving children off site.
- Parents are not to collect students during an evacuation procedure.
Kind regards
